Epilogue: Late Results - 2000AD prog 550

Siadwel Rhys’ funeral, Wales: Ruby tries to make friends again with Peter, but he isn’t interested: “I didn’t fight Masterman for you, Ruby. I did it to pick up votes in the election.” Ruby heads off for a holiday, refusing to tell Zenith the secret about his parents until she gets back. She had bribed him with it to make him help in the first place. There are three mysterious people watching the funeral from a distance, who will be introduced in Phase II: Lux, Spook & Dr Michael Peyne.
London: June 12, 1987: Peter St John has just been re-elected as MP for Hertfordshire South. He receives a call from the Prime Minister offering him the post of Defence Secretary.
London: June 19, 1987: Zenith is partying. He’s celebrating being Number 1 in both the UK singles and albums charts. His manager Eddie puts his current popularity down to Zenith’s recent ‘patriotic fight’ - and suggests he thinks about something to follow it up: Zenith is shocked into silence.
Berlin: June 23, 1987: Fräulein Greta Haas goes into a cinema, watching over her shoulder; she thinks she’s being followed. A man approaches her in the theatre and tells her, “The Order of the Black Sun are most upset about your mishandling of the Masterman affair... The bomb’s in your pocket.” He leaves as the cinema explodes.
