Berlin: April 30, 1987: Doctor Driesch has sucessfully defrosted the Masterman twin while Greta Haas prepares for the “Ritual of the Nine Angles”. Driesch is uncomfortable about staying for the ritual, but Greta forces him to participate. As Iok Sotot, “Eater of Souls”, manifests itself as a horrific giant cloud of teeth & eyes, Greta explains that this was the Dark God that possessed the original Masterman in the ‘40’s. As is traditional with rituals, a blood sacrifice is required - the Dark God enters the body of Driesch who promptly explodes from the pressure! It then enters the body of the prepared superhuman and Masterman arises. He tells Greta that he is just the first of the Many-Angled Ones to return and that he is here to prepare for the others that are to follow. He then sets off for London in search of Zenith.
