Commentary:
13 is an absolutely gripping serial written by Mike Carey, who, since he went exclusive to DC, has been attracting raves for his work on their Vertigo titles Lucifer and Hellblazer. Carey had previously offered with a 2000 AD strip called Carver Hale which might have been considered as an ongoing series, but really hit the mark with this thrill-powered adventure, featuring some very imaginative protagonists caught in a truly original situation and set upon by a really fantastic villain.
This edition includes several "pin-up" pages, planned as front covers but never used, along with sketches. It's a very good edition, and nicely priced at $13.
