COMMITTEE MEETINGS
The Oxford NCT Committee is made up of a small group of volunteers. We meet roughly every 4-6 weeks, either in central Oxford or members' homes. All NCT members are welcome to come along, hear what we do and get involved. For further information, contact .TALKS
From time to time, Oxford NCT holds talks in conjuction with external providers on a range of topics. We always welcome suggestions for future talks; please contact secretary@oxfordnct.
First Aid for Babies & Toddlers
The Oxford branch of the NCT, in conjunction with an external provider, will hold a second talk on First Aid for Babies & Toddlers in Autumn 2010. The talk will include assessing a casualty, putting your baby or child into the recovery position, providing artificial breathing and chest compressions (CPR) for babies and children, recognising and responding to choking. Maternity Employment Rights
Pregnant? On maternity leave? Returning to work? Know your employment rights. The Oxford branch of the NCT, in conjunction with Darbys Solicitors LLP, will hold a second talk on employment issues for women during and after pregnancy in Central Oxford in Autumn 2010. The discussion-led talk will include details on statutory antenatal rights (both private & public sector), maternity pay, holidays, bonuses, childcare vouchers, sexual discrimation, new rules on maternity leave and accrued benefits, keeping-in-touch days, and tips on securing flexible working hours. NEARLY NEW SALES
Nearly New Sales provide an opportunity to buy and sell good-quality, second-hand baby and toddler clothing, toys and equipment. In Oxford, the sales are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and are extremely popular. Our next Nearly New Sale will take place on 2nd October 2010, from 1pm – 3pm at St Gregory the Great School, Cricket Road (near Florence Park), Oxford OX4 3DR (poster: colour, b&w). Entrance fee £1. Places for sellers are limited but all are welcome to come along and buy on the day. NCT members will be let in early from 12.45pm.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the sale on the day. We would like volunteers for as much of the day as possible, but any help you are able to give (for example setting out before the sale, during the sale or tidying up after) is gratefully received. To say thank you we hold a volunteers pre-sale.

COFFEE GROUPS
The NCT runs several coffee groups around Oxford. Often held in people’s homes, these offer a chance to meet other new mothers/fathers and swap tips in a relaxed setting:
